OPULENCE

If one only desires enjoyment of the senses,
Then i wish them opulence;
To swim in the bottomless ocean of materialistic illusions,
And never approach me.

Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii

Nature is beautiful, nature is fierce.

Pompeii, under heavy influence of the all-mighty Rome, was home to the elite Roman citizens. Located near the coastline of modern-day Naples, it was blessed with all of Nature’s comforts. Weather, location, transport, agriculture/fishing, relaxation & business flourished. It became a center point, attracting the wealthy from far away looking for enjoyment and opportunities. Multiple earthquakes were common-ground but it took the eruption in 79 A.D. to submerge the city in lava from the volcano Mount Vesuvius. Pompeii was transformed from the city of riches to the city of ashes in a day. The city was abandoned, and the structures still stand desecrated as a reminder of the destructive power of Nature. Nature is beautiful. Nature is fierce.

The Nature of Nature

True fulfillment is on the inside, not the outside.

With hard work and a little luck, one can attain the greatest luxuries in life, and with a single stroke it can all be taken away. It will be. Eventually everything turns to ash. Pay close attention to Nature’s warning signs as you climb the ladder of illusion. Or don’t. Instead, seek contentment within yourself. As you take this new journey, you’ll start to find it conflicts with the gratification of the outward senses; slowly becoming immune to the Nature of Nature because true fulfillment is on the inside, not the outside.
