Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, But don't be-holden to it.
Human Eye
The visible spectrum for the human eye ranges from ~ 400THz to 800THz. The artwork above comprises copious violet, therefore primarily focuses on the upper range above 650THz.
How Do Eyes Work?
What we call vision, is our eyes detecting electromagnetic radiation. This particular spectrum of external frequencies penetrates the eyes. These frequencies are decoded by the brain and nervous system and translated into a color spectrum. It’s all instantaneous. We don’t realize all these frequencies are bouncing and reflecting all around us incessantly, and how much endless environmental processing our eyes are doing as a result, to give us an internal running picture. Variances in our eyes and/or brain can shift the color palette, might not allow some to see color at all, or perhaps, allow some to see what others cannot.
So, what's the Meaning of all this?
Each of us is born with a unique set of eyes with which we see the world. Each eye is different in shape, size, refraction index, etc. These differences eye-to-eye, become more noticeable person-to-person due to these external differences being further pronounced by an individual’s internal decoding process. It’s not just the size or color of the pupil or whether someone has astigmatism I’m talking about it. It is the way a person’s brain is decoding the information is also unique. Therefore, we not only see the world but also process the information from our eyes differently. You can say you see violet and I see violet too, but that’s because we’ve both defined what we’re seeing as violet. We cannot step into each other’s psyche to confirm it’s the exact same violet.
I’m trying to tell you without you entering my psyche: we’re not seeing the same violet.
There is No Definition of Beauty
This is supported by the fact that we are attracted to all kinds of different body types of people, colors, objects; and why no one has been able to define beauty.
Discussion: Ask someone for their definition of beauty and you’ll be surprised what they have to say.
Seeing the World in a Different Lens
If we close one eye, we lose our depth of perception. Similarly, changing the pupillary distance of our eyes, also changes the way we experience the 3D plane; by shifting our framework of colors, size, distance, etc. Imagine a banana slug. As its eyes are on either side of its head and shifting closer, further apart, up & down. One can assume it’s experiencing a constantly warping dimensional reality. No wonder the sluggers move so slowly! What about a spider with more than 2, 4, or 6 eyes? We may appear creepier to them than they us with all that visual overload! That’s just trippy.

The Way Eye See It
Our interpretation of the external world by our eyes alone is exclusive. It’s a one-person party and no one else is coming. This is why we define beauty, ugliness, neutrality in unique fashion; and why we all can’t agree who is the fairest of them all. With beauty undefined, society is free to assimilate into unusual relationships and fashion unbridled.
The Other Senses
If we take a step back, eyes are only a component of our senses. When we add smell, touch, taste and sound, we begin to realize differences from one another are too vast. We may be human, but internally we’re different animals. We don’t require firsthand experience. We don’t need to fallaciously clutch onto our self-constructed definitions. We must recognize that we’re all living with sensory differences that force us to see the world in a new light. There is no way for us to see eye-to-eye. Then maybe, we can grow closer to understanding each other from a deeper, more spiritual level.
