YIN AND YANG

Yin and Yang

Yin and Yang is a beautiful and powerful imagery originating from Chinese philosophical science dating back thousands of years. It’s commonly known as the symbol for duality, balance, or two halves of a whole. Contrasting themes come to mind like light & dark, good & evil, pleasure & pain, masculine & feminine. But what is the significance of this? I want to share another interpretation.

A Never Ending Chase

The circle is a symbol for infinity. One should view the image as a snapshot in time. White and black colors chasing each other in equal motion. Metaphorically, this represents a never-ending chase between two opposing forces.

We see one force chasing the other, and in return is also being chased back. But why would one run away from that which they are chasing?

Action and Reaction

Maybe, it’s more than a chase. It’s action & reaction taking place simultaneously. It’s movement. An artist might even dare call it a beautiful, dance between lovers. Flirting and withdrawing.

As one force progresses, it’s polar opposite MUST progress as well. It’s indirect competition. Movement is inevitable due to each force feeling incomplete. Each force wanting to have what it is missing and seeing in the other. Internally driven to merge with that energy of its polar opposite, and externally driven to match the competitive pace. The wheels are forever in motion as both evenly matched energies aren’t capable of overcoming each other.

A Way Out

However, there is a way out like the red pill. The answer lies in the heart of the yin and yang imagery. The opposite energy both sides strive for is hidden, deeply, subconsciously within their own very core. Those inner circles. Once realized, and one movement stops. Remember, the other side has been making identical progress and is also observing and changing. So both sides stop moving, becoming one with their true selves. The result of that mesh, results in the same neutral or balanced energy, where two originally polar opposite forces are now one and the same. There is no black and white. There is no movement. Together or separated, it doesn’t matter. Just unity and infinity. Peace.

Spiritual Significance

We look outwards and see all the things we’re missing in the world. We spend our lives chasing after it to make ourselves feel whole. But, what if the secret was to look inwards? What if we come to realize that the thing we are looking for all along is deep within our very core?

What do you think will happen to us then?
